On December 1st, Southern Belle Dairy became the proud owner of a new branch in Asheville, North Carolina.  We’re talking beautiful country (Tiger Woods is building a golf course here) and lots of opportunity.  We acquired this branch from United Dairy who has a friendly relationship with our parent company.

 

      Asheville will operate as a direct store delivery (DSD) branch for us and our Southern Belle brand will now be available in a new area.  Our new Southern Belle truck decals are in place and customers seem genuinely pleased to have us as a supplier.  United has done a great job of helping us make the transition and their staff (our new SB partners) has sustained a solid tradition of outstanding customer service.

 

      The dust hasn’t exactly settled but Asheville will likely become our second largest branch, behind Somerset.  We will have a full line of dairy products, some of which are being supplied by United, and Edy’s ice cream.  The growth potential is significant and we are looking forward to developing this new opportunity.  Joe Prewitt will assume oversight management of the branch until we have everything assimilated into the Southern Belle model.

 

      C.J. Reese will assume Branch Manager duty’s and will be responsible for daily operations.

 

      T.A. Miller will be on hand to help with new sales opportunities and to make sure the transition is made seamlessly.

 

      David Greene, who will operate the cooler, has an outstanding reputation for accounting for product and making accurate orders on a timely basis.

 

      All three of these individuals are long time dairymen and we are fortunate to have them join our team.

 

      We are excited about adding this location to our company and we welcome the North Carolina personnel to our Southern Belle Family.
